My knees have been giving me gyp.
Knees are a bit of a weak area on my mother’s side of the family. Then about 7 years ago a fancy Zumba move proved too much for the left, and 4 years ago some exuberant garden trampolining was the final straw for the right one😩.
I’ve gone through bouts of physio and strengthening exercises. They improve, I gradually forget about the exercises, and then…back to the start. Sound familiar?
Lately, they’ve been getting worse again. I wake some times during the night because I’ve bent it a certain way in bed. Ouch!
You know the way you wake up one day and say, ‘Enough! Why am I tolerating this?’
I’ve parked it as something to sort out after COVID. It’s non-essential as I can still walk.
OMG, who am I kidding?! These are my knees. I need them to be flexible and smooth.
I want to run and dance and play with my daughter, and our puppy. I have dreams of walking or cycling across continents in years to come when the nest empties🏃🏻♀️🚴🏻♂️.
So where to start? Well, for me it all starts by writing in my journal.
This morning I wrote down,
‘What are my knees trying to tell me? What can I do about this?‘
You know what happened straight after? First, I picked my daily angel guidance book and it fell open at a message titled ‘Send love to your muscles’.
Next, I went on to the internet to Marianne Williamson’s page: I use her meditations a lot. I noticed that she’s now writing as a columnist for Newsweek. I clicked a link as I was curious to see what that might look like. Lo and behold there was an advert on the page where her articles are, for a natural DIY treatment to help relieve knee pain. Seeing it reminded me of the joint oil sitting in my cupboard that I have yet to start using.
Conicidence? Synchronicity? Algorithms?! Fairy magic?
Call it what you will. As Roald Dahl said,
Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.
So right now, I’m grateful for the fair wind gently blowing me towards healing.
What’s niggling you, dear one? What might it look like to open to some help from the magic?
Let’s flourish together!💃🏻💃🏻
