Here, in the northern hemisphere, the nights are drawing in. It’s a time of contraction between now and winter solstice, one month from today.
A time for slowing down….
At the same time we’re entering in to the festive season. Thanksgiving for some this week, then the run up to Christmas.
With that can come a tendency to ‘get things done’ before the seasonal pause.
This year there’s an added unknown factor – will we still be in Lockdown? – and that can require extra energy to stay flexible and adjust plans. Those conversations with family members about who’s doing what, and where, take time!
I find myself wondering what matters most to me between now and then?
What is the one thing I would like to have given my attention to over the next 4 weeks?
When I’m marking the festivities, how would it feel to have honoured that?
What do I need to let go of between now and then to give this space?
What structures can I put in place to make this easier for myself?
Who could I enrol in my plans? What support might I ask for?
What will you do with your precious energy at this time, dear friend?
I hope that we can both find a balance between slowing down and tending to what matters most.
Let’s flourish together!
